Open the front door, bike down the drive and across the river ... and you're on the Col Du Coux mountain bike-trail!

Chalet Les Geckos is situated in the Vallee De La Manche between Morzine town centre and the Col De Coux - so you couldn't be better placed to ride straight out of your front door, across the little bridge over the river and then either left and up to the Col past the Mines D'Or (Gold Mines) or right and past the Cascades De Nyon (waterfalls) and into Morzine town centre and the Pleney bike trails. The chalet has a huge bike workshop / drying room and a high pressure hose for cleaning bikes (and riders!) down at the end of a hot day!

The excellent book VTT Chablais gives details of interesting and challenging routes in and around Morzine with parts of the book dedicated to trails which run past your door at Chalet Les Geckos - in particular up to the Col De Coux and over into Switzerland. It's an excellent guide to mountain biking in the area so we've left a copy in the chalet for you to consult. You can always purchase your own copy from the local book stores or the Champion supermarket.

VTT Chablais grades the trails green, blue, red, black according to difficulty, shows you how long each ride should take, identifies the physical techniques demanded by the route, the distance, the altitude gain and drop, supplementary maps which the rider may find useful and lots more besides.

As you can see from the pictures, Chalet Les Geckos is right at the heart of the mountain biking in this region. Its an exhilarating five minute ride down from the chalet to Morzine in the morning - go as fast as you dare either down the mountain road or the bike trail that hugs the river besides it. Once you have your fresh baguette and croissants, work up an appetite riding back up the hill for breakfast. How quickly can you do the "Boulangerie To Breakfast Table" run? The record is 14 minutes - the first half from the town centre to the Nyon cablecar is the hardest - it flattens off after that!
