In the meantime, here are four webcam links to cameras in and around Morzine.

Firstly - the nearest lift to Chalet Les Geckos is the Telepherique De Nyon - a short and beautiful ski, board or sledge (or in summer - mountain bike or trek) ride alongside the river from the door of the chalet itself. The lift deposits you at the Plateau De Nyon which is served by numerous biking/walking/skiing/boarding/sledging lifts and trails - some back down to the bottom of the telepherique, others across towards Morzine, others towards Les Gets, and some down via the impressive Mont Anglon back to Chalet Les Geckos. Whilst the latter are steep and difficult and for experienced bikers, skiers and boarders only, the Plateau De Nyon and the whole area is ideal for children. Lots of blue and green runs meander through the trees. It is quieter than other sectors of the resort, situated on the doorstep of the chalet and served by some of the very best restaraunts in the entire area. Here is a webcam view of how the Plateau De Nyon looks right now. In winter, an alternative to skiing/boarding/walking down to the Telepherique De Nyon which will take you approximately 20 minutes, the free local bus service runs between Chalet Les Geckos and the telepherique.

Secondly - here are some webcam views of Morzine town centre and the area known as Pleney overlooking the town. In summer you can walk (45 minutes) or mountain bike (15 minutes) down alongside the river from Chalet Les Geckos to Morzine town centre and in winter you can get there by skiing, boarding or sledging down the same trails which take you to the Telepherique De Nyon (but by carrying on past the telepherique). Its easier to get the free bus though which takes you from Chalet Les Geckos to Morzine town centre hourly and which will deposit you here in Morzine town centre from where its a two minute walk to the bottom of the Pleney lift. The Pleney lift (Telepherique De Pleney) takes you to here overlooking Morzine from where there is a great view of Chalet Les Geckos and a vast choice of trails and lifts enable you to mountain bike, walk, ski or board towards Les Gets, Morzine or Nyon.
